Weekly Invitation Oct 28
Anecdotal evidence suggests that 70% of people who die have not planned for their death in any way. Wills are not prepared, or no one knows where they are. Families are uncertain whether their loved one wanted to be buried or cremated. In my own experience, personally and professionally, I find more often than not, families don’t know what their loved one would have wanted for their funeral. This uncertainty only adds to the misery. Please don’t put your family in this position. Give the gift of pre-planning.
Join us this Saturday for our final set of workshops on Death and Dying. At 9am, Shelly Bathe Lenn will guide us through working with greiving children. At 10am, attorney Ron Larocque will teach us about wills, nursing homes, and the other legal issues of death. And at 11, I’ll be talking about how you can help your loved ones through their grieving by planning a funeral or memorial service that honors your life and their needs. Dying well is a wonderful gift you can give to those who love you most. I hope you’ll be there on Saturday.
On Sunday, we’ll be remembering the Saints of our lives, living and dead. Saints are the ones who have blessed our lives, shaping us with love. Help create a very special altar by bringing pictures or symbols of the saints of your life.
I’ll see you on Sunday,
Pastor Heather
