Weekly Invitation Oct 7
Our scripture for Sunday tells us to, “seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” Jeremiah 29:7 (NIV). We may not be living in exile, but we are called to love our neighbors, and to serve Chicopee. We live this out as we collect food for Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen, and serve dinner once a month. We live this as we pray for our schools and principals. Are there other ways we can working for peace and prosperity for all of our neighbors in Chicopee?
I’ve attached a flier about our death and dying workshops. I hope and pray you will be involved in this important series. Why? We all die, and we all lose loved ones. We all need help at those times, coping, grieving, and getting through the many details. Get as many tools as you can for facing the inevitable. Help your family by taking care of as many of the necessary details as you can. Please register today, and tell your friends, family, and coworkers. If you know a place that allows posting of community events, please post it for us. Let’s get the word out.
I’ll see you on Sunday,
Pastor Heather
