Dear Friends,

It’s not fair! As children we stomp our feet, slam our doors, and throw ourselves on the bed when presented with injustice.
It’s not fair! As adults, we fume and fuss, and complain to anyone who will listen…while our inner child stomps off in a huff.
It’s not fair! We want justice.

Sunday, we hear the story of the laborers in the vineyard in Matthew 20: 1-16. It’s one of those uncomfortable stories. The kind that gets under your skin and irritates. It asks us, when we consider God, what do we deserve?

I don’t know about you, but I’ll take God’s grace and mercy over what I deserve any day.
